Kicked Out of Two Homeschool Conferences - Answers in Genesis

Book of the Week

Hello everyone! Starting today I will be posting a book of the week every Thursday. I will have the book listed on the right side of my blog. I came across a blog recently that presented me with this wonderful idea in hopes of sparking a love of reading in fellow bloggers. Please feel free to leave comments on the book if you have already had the opportunity to read the book. Todays book of the week is by Charlotte Mason. She was an instructor in classical education. I myself use this approach while homeschooling my five children. This book is very insightful and can help you enjoy your homeschooling experience.  Happy Reading.... :)

Freedom

I am so very thankful for the freedom I have in Christ alone!  HE is the one true source of freedom.  Many of our freedoms can be taken away and are being taken away, but the freedom we experience in HIM cannot be stripped from us as believers in Christ.

I am free to be me!!!!

I don't have to fit into anyones mold.  HE created me as a unique individual and I am free to be me no matter how others might think I am outside the "accepted" boundaries.  What a wonderful blessing..

Freedom is a very precious gift and I do not want to ever take it for granted.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Romans 6:22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Priorities

What are you least satisfied with? Is it laundry, cooking, dusting? My least favorite chore or duty are the ones that do not have a lasting result.  But inspite of my feelings on this matter, these must be done.

God has priorities - recognizing our relationship with HIM - Learning about HIM - Walking with HIM daily - these are the priorities that bring order and peace in our lives.

HIS ways are so much better than our ways, and HE will bless us in our obedience to yielding, resting, walking, and submitting to HIS ways.

Isaiah 55:1-3
HO, every one that thirsteth, Come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 55: 8, 9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Regrets

We all tend to think things might be somewhat different if we could turn back the hands of time, but would they, really? When we know our entire lives, and the lives of our children, are in our Lords capable hands, we would do well to forget the past as we are told and to press ahead with much joy and much anticipation.

We need to be happy now, right where we are planted, even if we think our circumstances aren't ideal.

Count your blessings and be thankful. We all have room for growth and we know HE is the potter and we are the clay. Let yourselves be used for HIS honor and glory.

Philippians 3:13,14
